"Developing Nations Issue Challenge To Deliver On Pledge To Save Forests"

Hey guys! Today I have an interesting article for you.
Governments of the most of the countries are willing to solve a problem of the forest disappearing, so the declaration on that issue has been signed during the United Nations Climate Summit in NYC in September. It's a joint commitment to cut forest loss in half by 2020 and completely end it by 2030.
This particular treaty (or a pledge) has been signed by the Latin American and African countries for the most part and also it included the Philippines.
It's a very important step in the environmental history, and, hopefully, the plan will be implemented if the goal is already set.

Google Alert Story

Today I'd like to share the story that I've found via Google Alerts with you. The main idea is a battle for the Khimki forest, which is located in the Moscow region. Government officials are planning to destroy the forest to build a motorway through it, but regular active citizens as well as famous artists and musicians are protesting and reminding about the importance of the forests and that the motorway will damage this unique eco-system. Administration still doubts the chance of another way to build the road, but the most reasonable solution would be a compromise because eliminating such a huge forest area would become a serious problem of dirty air and unhealthy conditions. You can learn more on this topic here.

P.S. I'm sorry that the story is quite old (2010), but that one is the most approriate and similar to my social campaign theme.

And I also want to thank all my readers! Each person is important in finding the solution and spreading the word. Appreciate it!

My Social Media for Social Change Campaign

There is one issue that I've been concerned about even when I was still in Russia. There is a huge forest right next to my house in my city and it's not in the best shape and conditions there now are really not good and disapposinting.
We with my friend have already made a video clip about this problem. There we showed the way we were cleaning up this area, told some details about that particular forest and tried to encourage others to help us to make this place much better for everyone.
If this forest is clean and well-maintained, it can definitely become one of the nicest parks in my city! It's a wonderful place for spending time with children. Jogging, walking, riding а bicycle - everything will be available there.
I have showed this video to my Russian classmates already and they supported me but I don't think that it's enough. So I would be eager to share it with a bigger audience. With you, my dear readers! :)
My Facebook, VKontakte and Instagram pages can totally help me to embody this idea. I can also provide different flashmobs for spreading the word about this campaign.
