Today I'd like to share the story that I've found via Google Alerts with you. The main idea is a battle for the Khimki forest, which is located in the Moscow region. Government officials are planning to destroy the forest to build a motorway through it, but regular active citizens as well as famous artists and musicians are protesting and reminding about the importance of the forests and that the motorway will damage this unique eco-system. Administration still doubts the chance of another way to build the road, but the most reasonable solution would be a compromise because eliminating such a huge forest area would become a serious problem of dirty air and unhealthy conditions. By the way, I've got really interested in the story of the Ometyev forest. Could you please tell about your personal experience that will, I believe, encourage people to take action and keep the principle of careful attitude towards the nature in mind.
